After a false fair start (I sound like Jiries for a moment there) it has gone flat again with overcast skies. 10.4 C but despite the relatively "low" humidity of 84%, it still feels all damp and clammy in calm air.
Home location: Folkestone Harbour.

Clammy implies cold to me, and it's certainly not cold! Damp, yes, and mild; it's 7.2, dew 6.4, following an overnight low of 6.1. Yesterday's high was 8.9, a smidge above average.

There is a slight frost around here in Edinburgh this morning which I wasn't quite expecting, but no air frost was actually recorded here as the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank only dropped to 0.7°C which means that only a ground frost was recorded on this occasion.

Nevertheless, more air frosts have been recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank this month than the 1991-2020 January average so regatdless of what happens between now and the end of the month, this month will go down as being frostier than average and in this era of climate change and global warming, it's not very often that I get to say that.

This has then taken us into a fairly sunny start to this morning with some cloud around after some rain in the earlier part of last night.

Currently around 1°C here in Edinburgh

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Left a damp, gloomy and misty Lakes this morning and headed home up the M6/M74 and turned off at Moffat across the Southern Uplands to Edinburgh

Into Scotland I soon drove into bright winter sunshine and low-lying fogs. Beautiful around the Upper Tweed...into my shady suburb of Edinburgh and frost has survived all day! Minimum this morning was -1 C and Maximum early afternoon was 4.8 C

It's already 1.5 C by 1630 so looks like another frost to come if it stays clear

Today turned out more cheerful and brighter than I thought with some decent sunny periods, as a result the 8 C to 9 C felt mild in mod S breeze when I walked around shopping area.

Today started off grey and overcast a few spots of rain but that deteriorated pretty quick, at present we have a nasty wind and moderate rain, 100 times worth than the last yellow warning we had not so many days back.

Heavy rain, which I think set in between 7:00 and 8:00, and quite windy. One of those days where I decided not to take a ten minute walk to the High Street to get a morning paper.

Heavy rain here during my exercise class today 11am-noon. We could hardly hear ourselves speak over the noise from the metal roof of the hall! My rain gauge indicates 2mm in the hour.

Mostly cloudy and feeling mild - the southerly wind hasn't been as strong as forecast. 9.7, dew 7.6, the high being 10.3.

Just 3.2mm of rain here today, not that I'm complaining! The accumulated rain over the past 12 hours (via NW) shows how sheltered Sheppey has been in this southerly flow... the North Downs acting as a squeegee.

Yet another day of southeasterly muck. Endless gloom, lots of rain and strong winds. Currently 7.2°C and little sign of an end to the SEly muck for the foreseeable.
