A superb day here, dazzling blue skies and 5 C

The best thing is that the sun has risen over Blackford Hill for the first time since the beginning of December!! ☀️☀️☀️

Dull and damp (7.4 mm so far today) with a brisk southerly breeze making the current 8.4 C & mid-90% H feel cold than it needs to be.

Repeating Matty H's favourite turn of phrase; gash.

Definitely gash here, 7.9c, mostly steady and moderate to light rain with the heaviest burst up at 10mm/hr rates, so not exactly heavy.

Consistent though with 14.2mm so far today.

Looks like, on the radar, we may get a dry window in half an hour for a quick lap round the field with the pup.

An overcast, grey, almost foggy morning has given way to steady rain here at 15.30hrs. Expecting it to get heavier. Not cold - about 6°C - and still.

It's been a dark and very wet day, none stop rain all the way and still raining now. A nice cool 7c ,  the high was 8c.

Got down to freezing in Edinburgh about 8pm last night, then down to -3, and still -1 at Gogarbank at 10am - few degrees colder than predicted

Another weird thing I've noticed is that the metoffice observation figures change after the fact. The 11am was first given as -0.3C, now they've bumped it up to 3.1C? Do they average out over the hour? Was the first just a guess? Do they have time travel?

https://weather.metoffice.gov.uk/observations/gcvw5vmsn

This site still has the -0.3 reading:

8.8C. Cloudy with light SW winds. Some overnight showers.

The million dollar question is will it or won't it next week? A proper old school easterly. Probably won't but who would put money on it? I would put money on an April and May unpleasant easterly direction though.
