Conclusion
A very disappointing winter month overall.
December 2025 ended on a fairly cold note, but it was a milder than average month overall which was completely snowless with less than half of our average number of air frosts. It even gave us our warmest December day on record on one occasion.
December 2025 was fairly unsettled for much of the time and it had looked at one point as though it was going to be a very wet month, but the rainfall totals and the number of rain days still came out slightly below average yet again as high pressure built in the second half of the month.
However, December 2025 was a duller than average month overall.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
