Overcast, similar to yesterday. I did hope for a fine sunny festive period but sadly it was not to be thanks to North Sea gunk coming in from the Hook of Holland, but at least it's bone dry and winds are currently lighter compared to yesterday.

A chilly-feeling 3.9 C & high-80% H under light east breeze.

Still grey with a light/mod ENE breeze. Current temperature 4.1c high today was at 6:18am at 6.2c. It’s what I call a useless cold too raw and chilly to do much more than go for a walk but too mild for any snow..

I think that was my 'darkest' Christmas! It didn't really get light on the big day or Boxing Day

The trees in the big bay windows up here looked good though

As I write though, the temperatures are now refusing to drop as a result of there now being too much cloud around even here.😡

Cloudy, drizzle gave 0.8mm to Swanston overnight so ground is wet and air temp is 4 C. Not inspiring for my walk up the hill! The dank Christmas period goes on.

Fine and sunny start to the day, also less cold at 8.8 C & high-70% H in light east breeze. No frost observed but did get to see a nice dawn sky, as captured on my Delta Flyer.

It is too soon to say Spring has arrived? Might be wishful thinking on my part, especially as it is looking like the North Sea gunk isn't too far away.

Steady drizzle here still and 5 C. 1.0mm at Swanston now. Not a great day for the big Edinburgh Derby!

Could do with some sunshine after 3 gloomy days

5C here with unbroken sunshine and keen breeze. If the wind drops tonight I'd expect more than a sharp frost.

The dull grey murky conditions continue here as they have done for several days now. The sooner we see the back of the easterly muck the better. Overcast and 6.7°C currently.

It has been better inland (and colder with both Balmoral and Aviemore having ice days on Christmas Day).

However, the fact that an official rain day can still be recorded even under high pressure shows just how crazy and mixed up our weather can be at times, especially since there has been many times in the past when we’ve struggled to get much in the way of rainfall even under low pressure.

Quite the contrast to the past few days of sun, we now have grey and gloomy with the occasional drizzle thrown in for good measure. 7.7c  and as there's high pressure that's currently 1034.6mb.
