Snow in Jersey and Tasmania on Christmas Day. The latter being especially unusual I think. 😂 Perhaps London will have to wait until 21st June.Â

I recall an Aussie cricketer from Melbourne telling me they can have all four seasons in a day.  If you look at the forecast it’s due to be up into the 30s within a couple of days.

It just goes to show just how crazy and mixed up our weather can be when a location such a Tasmania can get snow just now in what is actually their summer whereas we always struggle to get even as much as a flake of snow in what should be approaching our coldest time of the year.😡

I visited Tasmania one January 20+ years ago and while I didn't see any snow myself, while hiking in the mountains (Mount Field) I stopped at a hut and the visitors' book had a note from someone who had sheltered there from a snowstorm only a few days earlier. Meanwhile I was walking in a T-shirt in glorious sunshine. A couple of weeks earlier I had sweltered in near-40C heat in Melbourne after having driven there through chilly sea fog along the Great Ocean Road. Southern Australia certainly gets some extremes!
Meanwhile, in Hampshire this Christmas had the nicest and wintriest weather for many years - unbroken sunshine all day with a fresh cold wind.
