As others have said certainly a different feel with the biting NNE wind, going to feel cold this coming week although hopefully the wind will moderate.

Edit, since I got up I've noticed a roof frost on the car. Wonders never cease. Now for an air frost, when will that be this season?

There is a slight frost in places. 

I am appreciating the much cleaner and fresher air quality, makes a change from everything smelling of wet dogs like it has been when we had the damp southerly airflow.

In "olden days" like the 1980s we went to watch the skating down your way. Not any more. 😞

In the past skating was a regular and traditional event at Baston Fen.

Much chillier than recently, High of 6.1c and currently 4.7c. 

So on crisp, still and clear days like this, frost can persist all day. We got to 5 C just after lunch but we are already down to 3 C by 1530

High cloud is now approaching from the NW

Here in Edinburgh, we finally had our first official air frost of this month last night at long last as the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank dropped to -0.1°C, although that wasn't quite cold enough to actually give us our coldest night of this season so far.

However, today was a mostly sunny day with a total of 6.5 hours of sunshine at Edinburgh Gogarbank which was enough to make today our sunniest day of this month far, although it has now clouded over a bit.

So far, this month hasn't been as dull as last month although it is still running slightly duller than average and I still wouldn't completely rule out this month being sunnier than average in the end, in what has been an exceptionally sunny year overall despite the very dull October which we had this year.

We've now lost that wind from off the North Sea which was around a couple of days ago and because of that, it doesn't actually feel as cold as it did then.

Today's highest temperature so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank is 6.0°C but today is probably unlikely to actually end up being our coldest day of the autumn so far once the official maximum temperature for today has been confirmed later on because our lowest maximum of this month so far isn't all that much above that at 6.2°C as recorded on 13 November 2025.

We're getting into the time of year now when we would typically be expecting to see our first sub 5°C maximum of the season but for now, the wait for that goes on.

Currently around 3°C here in Edinburgh, so tonight is getting off to a fairly chilly start but as long as there is too much cloud around, the temperatures will no doubt be refusing to drop any further.
