Once again, it is yet another mild day with a temperature of around 12°C so far in a month which has yet to bring us even as much as a single ground frost, let alone any air frosts even though we will now be a third of the way through the month by the end of today since this month only has 30 days in it.

However, it then very quickly clouded over with the approach of dawn and as I write, it is now raining here in Edinburgh with a temperature of around 9°C.
This morning is even starting off on a much drier note than yesterday and although it is still mostly cloudy, there is still some clear sky to my east and south but the wind has also picked up quite a bit over the last few hours.
Currently around 11°C here in Edinburgh as this almost constant mild weather goes on, so we could really do with seeing some colder weather now which would at least make it a bit more seasonal.
I can't remember the last time we had lashing rain on the north side of the house!
So far since 9am GMT (09:00 UTC) yesterday morning, a total of 23.6 mm of rain had fallen at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 6:40 am GMT (06:40 UTC) this morning which already makes yesterday our wettest day of this year so far. In addition to that, around 7 mm of that has fallen in just a single hour between 4am and 5am this morning, and it is still absolutely chucking it down here as I write.
With all of that, the actual temperature is rather academic. As I write, we have probably not quite reached yesterday's minimum temperature just yet although the temperature is only down to around 7°C here in Edinburgh as I write.

The rain became lighter for a while during the day before becoming heavier again this afternoon, and has never completely gone away all day. As a result, a total of 15.4 mm of rain has been recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank since 9am GMT (09:00 UTC) this morning and it's still raining even as I write. The upshot of this is that even though we're still not even halfway through the month yet, more rain has now already fallen at Edinburgh Gogarbank this month than the 1991-2020 November average which means that regardless of what happens during the rest of this month, this month will go down as being wetter than average although it is only first wetter than average month since June and only our second wetter than average month of this year.
Today has been another completely sunless day in what is turning out to be rather a dull month, and is also likely to go down as our coldest day of this autumn so far with the temperatures since 9am GMT (09:00 UTC) no higher than 6.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank with a cold and raw wind from off the North Sea making it feel even colder than it actually is.

However, there continues to be a raw wind from off the North Sea and although last night was slightly colder than the previous night, this nagging wind actually prevented the temperatures from dropping no lower than 4.7°C and with that, we haven't even had as much as a ground frost from that despite the fact that we are now in that "colder" air so that our increasingly long wait for that elusive first air frost of the month goes on.😡
Currently around 5°C here in Edinburgh
Update 14/11/2-025 @16.40. Rain gauge shows just over 1cm.
