A cold start to this morning and just as we have now entered into the penultimate day of this month, the first official air frost of this month has now finally been recorded at long last, at Edinburgh Gogarbank and Edinburgh Airport with a minimum temperature of no higher than -0.76°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Today has also started off on a bright and sunny note although there is now a lot of high cloud coming in from the west.

Currently around 0°C here in Edinburgh

Bright and sunny with hazy cloud approaching from the west. Temperature around zero first thing with a light frost. Very different to yesterday's soaking when we must have had 25mm or so and now well over 100mm for the month

Here in Edinburgh, overnight rain has cleared away to leave us with a lot of cloud around and only occasional sunny intervals.

Last night was a lot milder than of late though with the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank dropping to no lower than 8.4°C

Currently around 11°C here in Edinburgh

Back on topic though, it's overcast here in Edinburgh and it has once again started raining.

However, it's also very mild for this time of the year once again with a temperature of around 15°C, a bit warm for Halloween.

White Rabbits!!

It's hard to believe that we're now into the final month of the meteorological autumn and the penultimate month of this year already.

Sadly though, the weather hasn't changed all that much.

There was some overnight rain but that has now cleared away to leave us with a lot of cloud, but with some breaks in that as well which should at least produce the odd sunny interval later on.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was similar to the previous night at 8.6°C.

Currently around 9°C here in Edinburgh

Been a rainy night here at Folkestone too with 18 mm between my 12 am station reset and this morning, even the 3 am nightclub closing time drunks (weren't that many of them) didn't want to hang around outside for too long. Quite sunny and a mild-feeling 15 C now that winds has dropped off (or since it is SW so I'm being more sheltered by the nearby built up hilly bit) as I typed this at 11 am.
