Last night was slightly colder than the previous night with another ground frost, but it still wasn't quite cold enough for an air frost as the overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was only down to 2.3°C.
However, this continues to be a year in which the Sun just won't stop shining and that was shown yesterday as a total of 8.7 hours of sunshine was recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank to make yesterday our sunniest day of this autumn so far.
In addition to that, today is also starting off on yet another bright and sunny note as it usually always does now.
Furthermore, yesterday's maximum temperature was back up to 16.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank so the daytime temperatures also appear to be warming up again as well.
We did get a more unsettled spell earlier on this month but apart from that, nothing has really changed here since the spring and summer, and the only reason why it's not getting as warm now as it was in the summer is because we're now in a different time of the year with the Sun now no longer being as strong.
This is showing us yet again that we just don't get changeable weather any more like what we used to and that is even shown up very well by the fact that the soil is still rock hard here despite the rainfall which we had earlier on in the month because that has still not been enough to moisten the ground properly for any length of time, so the ongoing lack of rainfall which has been going on for a very long time now is still continuing to have its effects here.
My question now, is when on Earth is this all going to end!?
