The rain has now cleared away here in Edinburgh but despite falling for several amounts, the total from that at Edinburgh Gogarbank was just 3.4 mm of rain.

Once the rein cleared, the odd break then started to appear in the cloud but in the end, today will go down as the first completely sunless day of this autumn at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

In addition to that, today has also been quite a lot cooler than late with a maximum temperature of just 15.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and in fact, today is the first day for quite a long time in which we haven't even come close to getting a 20+°C, let alone actually getting one (in other recent days, we weren't always getting 20+°C maximums but even on those days when that wasn't happening, we were always getting very close to getting that).

As I write though, the temperature here in Edinburgh is still only just below 15°C

Today was supposed to be our best day of the weekend (though not the warmest) but instead of the nice sunshine which I was expecting to see, it's rather dull and overcast here in Edinburgh with only the odd sunny interval earlier on this morning.

It is autumn now though, so I can't really complain especially since we had become used to the Sun shining for most of the time during such a large part of this year.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 10.7°C.

Currently around 17°C and since it's now autumn, that would now no longer be seen as disappointing if the temperature didn't rise any further during today as it would have been a few weeks ago, but the Met Office are going for a maximum temperature of around 20°C for here once again.

As has been the case for most of this year, the Sun has once again found a way through those earlier cloudy skies, thus showing us once again that this continues to be the year in which the Sun just will not stop shining with a total of 7.4 hours of sunshine being recorded yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

With that, the temperature here in Edinburgh is now up to around 19°C which is already warmer than of late, so it looks as though we are heading for yet another 20+°C as we are thrown back into summer yet again.😡

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 20.7°C but with a total of only 2.9 hours of sunshine as the latter part of this afternoon and evening became much cloudier once again.

Currently, a warm and humid 18°C here in Edinburgh
