Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 12.6°C.

There were a few showers around last night and this morning has started off on a much windier note than of late with the winds at Edinburgh Gogarbank gusting up to over 30mph from the south.

Today is the final day of meteorological summer after all, so perhaps the weather is finally starting to prepare itself for the autumn which begins tomorrow (meteorologically speaking).

Yet, normal service has been resumed apart from that in terms of what this year has been like. This morning has been largely sunny with only small amounts of cloud around. It's back to being dry as per usual, and the temperature here in Edinburgh is already at around 19°C and no doubt heading back above 20°C once again which means that our weather is still refusing to cool down here.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Clear, calm, just on the warm side of average and damp, following an isolated heavy downpour earlier.

14.6, dew 13.8, following an overnight low of 13.8. Yesterday's high was 22.8 and there was 0.4mm of rain in the early hours from that aforementioned shower.

White Rabbits!!

Today is of course, the first day of yet another brand new month and also, the first day of the meteorological autumn.

This autumn is starting off with the usual bright sunshine this morning with some cloud around but unlike in other recent days, there has already been some showers around this morning.

Currently around 16°C here in Edinburgh

Here in Edinburgh, there has been some decent sunny spells at times with a total of 4.9 hours of sunshine being recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

However, there has also been a number of showers which have been very heavy at times and it was absolutely chucking it down out there as I got round to posting this just now. Nevertheless, the tops of these Cb clouds have looked quite spectacular when I've seen them from a distance due to their characteristic anvil shape.

The air also now finally has a much cooler and fresher feel to it but that is still not being reflected in the actual temperatures in any way as today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank still reached 19.9°C. This means that we were already very close to getting our first 20+C maximum of this autumn and that was actually achieved at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh where the temperature reached 20.16°C.

Currently around 15°C here in Edinburgh

It's been dry all day, but we've just had an absolutely drenching downpour with rain rates in 150-200mm p/hr

A dull, overcast and very gloomy start to today here in Edinburgh with light rain also starting to set in from the SSE.

Last night was cooler than of late with an overnight minimum temperature of 9.9°C to give us our first single figures minimum of this autumn, albeit only just and no more.

Currently around 12°C here in Edinburgh
