So the 'fresher feeling' day the met office has said it would be has consisted so far of a high of 24C with a dew point just shy of 18.5C.

Perhaps it was the breeze they thought would be fresher - it is rather breezy.

Just had a rather heavy but brief shower. Looking at the radar there's a thin but quite potent line of rain heading east. Maybe that one will breach the Sheppey Shield?

The coldest day still reached 24 and that's 2.5 above average for the time of year. It really has been a sweltering spell, and it'd be lovely to have a normal day for once! The thought of snuggling into a comfy bed, not having to have a portable a/c thrumming away, or sweltering away with just a window open, is most appealing! I could do with a good night's sleep TBH.

Nowadays, 20+°C maximums at this time of year seem to occur almost completely effortlessly with that sometimes happening even the current synoptics don't even deserve such a maximum temperature. I therefore wouldn't be surprised if in a number of years time, a day such as today still ended up resulting in a 20+°C maximum here in Edinburgh anyway.

A slight change to things this morning! It's partly cloudy, calm, feeling fresher than of late but still above average, and there was 2mm of rain overnight... the Sheppey Shield failed for once!

It's presently 13.6, dew 12.2, with the overnight low being 13.2. Yesterday's high was 25.5.

The day started off bright with some good sunshine and broken high cloud, but then the low cloud/sea fog rolled in from the Channel by mid-morning onwards and is now feeling quite cool and fresh at 17.9 C under mod SW breeze. However, going by satellite images, think it won't be long before the sun come back out. 1.6 mm fell in the early hours but nowhere enough to sustain my already thirsty-looking lawn.

However, we have had nothing more than just a little bit of very light drizzly rain which has barely even dampened the ground in any way.

In addition to that, the temperature as per usual for this time of the year has once again exceeded 20°C here in Edinburgh which once again further proves the point about 20+°C maximums being achieved much more easily these days than back in my younger days which I made yesterday because back then, I'm pretty certain that our maximum temperature for today probably wouldn't have got above around 18°C or 19°C with the current setup.

Looks like Coningsby maxed out at 29.0C today which is a degree higher than the models had.

Quite a contrast 29c in Coningsby to 16c in the Lakes.

22.6c max here but 10-15 miles to the East 25c plus.

Quite dull now and windy, looks cold from inside but it's still over 21c.

Whew... woke up drenched in sweat, and it's turned into a sauna since I went to bed! It's partly cloudy, with a light (and completely non-refreshing) SW'ly breeze.

18.2, dew 16,7, the overnight low being a stifling 17.7.

The next four days will be hellish.

Warm overnight here too with a min of 18.6c. Cloudy though and as it was yesterday the house isn't too bad but the bedroom was getting warmer through the night.  Looks like quite a lot of dull weather with late Sunshine  frustratingly until Monday when it may be up to 32c, which would have been exceedingly rare until 2019.

Warm but very murky…. 3000 mile fetch of a warm air mass over a cool ish ocean has resulted in a thick blanket of fog and mizzle. Low overnight was 17c and it’s 17.1c now🙄 visibility is down to 50m. Not much changing down here until tomorrow..

Here in Edinburgh, last night was our warmest night of the year so far with an overnight minimum temperature of 15.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, thus making last night the first night of this year in which the temperature has failed to even drop below 15°C at any time during the night.

There was a little bit of rain to start today but that has now cleared away to give us a rather breezy day with some cloud, but also some decent sunny spells at times as well.

Once again, the temperature here in Edinburgh is around 20°C as per usual.

After an overcast start the sun has broken through and it is feeling pretty steamy.

Wittering the hottest at 1pm with 28.5C and a fourth (I think) 30C of the month looks certain today.

Tomorrow should make it too and Monday certain will.
