Lots of medium level instability here coming from due south. Wonder if these storms may survive to Edinburgh?

Currently at eyemouth right under it. Epic. The best thunderstorm I've ever experienced. Got another hour or two to go yet too. Just constant. Will see if I can upload something

Got home from a long afternoon of visiting friends and family in Kent, 20 minutes ago and we have a bit of a cracking thunder storm, break out pretty much on top of us. So far not a lot of rain but a good few lightning streaks going along the clouds and down, all at the same time, immediately followed by some hugely loud booms of thunder.

A lot of my videos didn't do the 3hrs worth of thunder and lightning the justice it deserved, but turn the volume up on this one for a nice guncrack lightning strike

Last nights storms tracked NE exactly as forecast from Morecambe Bay, across Cumbria, Carlisle, The Scottish Borders, Eyemouth/Dunbar and up the coast of Aberdeenshire. They are still flashing away in The North. I observed the frequent lightning from Edinburgh but they were too far away to hear thunder.

Earlier, another batch formed over N. Yorkshire and tracked NE across Durham and Newcastle areas.

Another large storm area formed SW of The Wash and moved across south Lincs/West Norfolk (see posts and vid from glenogle above)

This morning a new batch of storms, not as intense, are moving into western Scotland

On the east coast at the moment and just clipping the edge of the stuff coming up from the south. Spit and spot of rain and occasional rumble of thunder

Some unexpected thundery activity early this morning along the coast here of east sussex from around 5am to 7am . Little rain but thunder rumbling around for a couple of hours . Storms evidently crept across the channel in the early hours

Had a nice thunder storm in Cornwall last week with some loud booming thunder but nothing like what's going on over Trieste Italy right now, there's a good Earthcam for Trieste that looks over the bay if you're interested, continual lightning and quite a show.
