After what has been a fine day with near unbroken hazy sunshine and a peak of 24.3 C where most of it was sat outside on garden chair, it is now growing overcast ahead of the impending thundery stuff. Still a muggy feeling 21.6 C & 70% H even though there is something of a NE breeze.

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank is officially confirmed as 22.0°C. That is very slightly below yesterday's maximum and is therefore, not quite warm enough for today to go down as our warmest day of this summer so far.

However, the wind from earlier on has died down again after gusting up to around 35mph from the SSW at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

The skies are also much clearer with a little bit of late evening hazy sunshine although there is still a lot of high cloud around.

Currently around 17°C here in Edinburgh

Thunderstorms to the east of me, thunderstorms to the west of me, but the big and intense feature over France earlier, scheduled to hit this bit of central southern England has not fulfilled its promise. A few heavy spots of rain and very humid at 20.5C

Same here with regards to the storms - to the east and to the west. Standing in the garden watching the clouds to the east move in the opposite direction to the clouds to west. A few big spots of rain but hardly enough to completely wet the ground.

Currently 21.2C with a dew point of 17C
