We've had over 200hrs of sun in May, including eleven days over 10hrs and three days over 15hrs ☀️☀️☀️ Incredible!

I've practically lived in the garden apart from three totally sunny days walking in Wharfedale last weekend. Very little water in the river and the famous waterfalls are dry!!

There's now a slight breeze from the NE, it's 15.1 (dew 11.5). The high was 19.6 at lunchtime and last night's low was 9.3.

A good few rumbles of thunder around but nothing overhead.

Max of 18.3c will probably bring our May Mean maximum just below 20c so far, 2020 was the only year where we have hit 20c in 14 years of my records.

Was it a one hit wonder?

It was 4c when we went for a run at 7am, and the low was 2.1c. Up to 11.7c and blue skies are back.

Here in Edinburgh, last night wasn't as cold as that and it wasn't even cold enough for an air frost here, but it was still very cold for this time of the year here with a ground frost being recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank where the overnight minimum temperature dropped to just 2.2°C (even that is still remarkable given that we're now only just over a week away from the start of the meteorological summer).

Of course, this has been a spring in which the Sun has just refused to stop shining and this has led us into yet another sunny day with the Sun still shining as I write.

However, we are now finally starting to see a veil of high cloud come in ahead of the weather system which is being forecast to finally bring this long dry spell to end later on, which has being causing so many issues as I've been discussing recently on this month's precipitation thread which has ended up doubling up as an unofficial drought thread because of that.

Currently around 16°C here in Edinburgh

2.6c min , went on a run at 6am and there was quite widespread frost as I got out into the fields. 

H: 18.2°C, L: 6.9°C.

Under normal circumstances, this would typically be no big deal here but this is something which hasn't been seen here for a very long time, and is very badly needed.

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 18.0°C and with the cloud cover, this evening is milder than of late with the temperature currently at around 12°C here in Edinburgh.

Mild , damp and breezy now 13.5c.
