26 days with no rain! Yet another beautiful sunny day!

We've had over 200hrs of sun in May, including eleven days over 10hrs and three days over 15hrs ☀️☀️☀️ Incredible!

I've practically lived in the garden apart from three totally sunny days walking in Wharfedale last weekend. Very little water in the river and the famous waterfalls are dry!!

Still light rain here which is welcome to stay for the rest of the day if it can. I don't think it wants to though.

One of Ian (idj20) in Folkstone if he reads this.

With its cool creative quarter, buzzy restaurants, destination hotels and Tattinger vineyard, this corner of Kent has plenty worth leaving London for.

The rain this morning moved through with an amazing 0.4mm of rain falling. It’s now bright and breezy with well broken cloud.

Small thunderstorm passing through - enough rain to create puddles but not enough to create flow in the gutters.

Varying cloud through today, some impressive cumulonimbus clouds to the north at one point - but aside from about 12 drops of rain per square metre earlier (and yes, I counted them 😂) it's been dry.

There's now a slight breeze from the NE, it's 15.1 (dew 11.5). The high was 19.6 at lunchtime and last night's low was 9.3.

A few showers here, one was slightly heavy for a while, but still only 20mm/hr rate so nothing major.

A good few rumbles of thunder around but nothing overhead.

Max of 18.3c will probably bring our May Mean maximum just below 20c so far, 2020 was the only year where we have hit 20c in 14 years of my records.

Afternoon showers gave me 2.6 mm in all today (Wednesday). Still not enough to properly revive my parched lawn, though. Next chance saloon for rain is Saturday.

9.9C, clear calm and sunny. Yesterday evenings deluge has done wonders for the plants already.

Was it a one hit wonder?

Cloud and cool at 7.1c.

Band of cloud should clear later morning to leave sunshine and then a glorious day tomorrow before the change.

Calm, sunny, warming up quickly after a cold night. 8.6, dew 6.7, following a low of 4.6 (with heavy dew and condensation on the outside of the windows). Yesterday's high was 15.4, with 0.2mm of rain.

Certainly a cool night down here for this late in May.

It was 4c when we went for a run at 7am, and the low was 2.1c. Up to 11.7c and blue skies are back.

Heavily overcast which, despite being the Irish default,  is still a bit jarring after the recent prolonged sunny conditions. About 16c.

Of course, this has been a spring in which the Sun has just refused to stop shining and this has led us into yet another sunny day with the Sun still shining as I write.

However, we are now finally starting to see a veil of high cloud come in ahead of the weather system which is being forecast to finally bring this long dry spell to end later on, which has being causing so many issues as I've been discussing recently on this month's precipitation thread which has ended up doubling up as an unofficial drought thread because of that.

Currently around 16°C here in Edinburgh

You beat me to it John! Was just going to report the veil of high cloud slowly thickening over the city. Not expecting the rain until after 10pm. I'll be sad to see that amazing blue sky go but I know we've some serious catching up to do rainwise

Finally at long, long last, I can now finally report that it's actually raining here in Edinburgh now, just for a change.

Under normal circumstances, this would typically be no big deal here but this is something which hasn't been seen here for a very long time, and is very badly needed.

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 18.0°C and with the cloud cover, this evening is milder than of late with the temperature currently at around 12°C here in Edinburgh.
