Another very wild and noisy day here in Edinburgh with the wind at Edinburgh Gogarbank gusting up to around 56 mph from the south.

That makes today our windiest day of this month so far and today is actually windier than it has been in the past with a number of our previous named storms even though there isn't an actual named storm this time.

There was also some earlier rain and although it's relatively dry just now (although there are still some bits and pieces of light rain in the wind), it is still mostly cloudy with only the odd brighter interval.

Currently around 10°C here in Edinburgh, so it's another mild day though not as mild as it was a few days ago.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

The brightness doing its best to hang on for as long as it can today with the sun still shining through fairly thin high cloud. Making the current 10.2 C & high 80% H feel mild in light S breeze.

Meanwhile, the wind has died down slightly but with gusts still reaching around 47 mph at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Currently around 11°C here in Edinburgh.

Still raining after a remarkably long spell of rain that began yesterday.

9C with light SW breeze..

A litmus test for me at least for Spring, is when I can put up the outside rotary clothes dryer.

In the sunshine.

No sign of that for the time being.

After a wet night where 8 mm fell, things very slowly and painfully brightened up during the course of today but still very much on the cloudy side. 9.7 C & mid-90% H but at least we've lost that brisk southerly breeze.

2.5C, mainly cloudy, blue sky disappearing over the eastern horizon.

Note the different temperatures over the 70 miles between W Sussex and Dorset, above; NMA and I usually echo each other.

After a sunny start with a white hoar frost, it's clouded over - the portent of some heavy rain to come later this morning.

Mostly cloudy and damp as the shallow low pressure that brought us yesterday's rain is taking its time to drag its sorry arse away from Kent. Also not feeling that warm yet at 7.3 C & low-80% H, there was even a touch of frost in the early hours when skies were still clear with min of 1.9 C at that time.
