That makes today our windiest day of this month so far and today is actually windier than it has been in the past with a number of our previous named storms even though there isn't an actual named storm this time.

There was also some earlier rain and although it's relatively dry just now (although there are still some bits and pieces of light rain in the wind), it is still mostly cloudy with only the odd brighter interval.

Currently around 10°C here in Edinburgh, so it's another mild day though not as mild as it was a few days ago.

Meanwhile I'm on day 11 of my 'escape the British Winter' campaign.

Deep blue sky again here in Alvor and 19 C with the sunshine very strong! My mood is far better than this time last year 🙄

I don't know about your bins but the botanic gardens and Princes Street Gardens have both been closed because of these winds as has Edinburgh Castle.

In addition to that, there has even been reports of fallen trees on the A702 road near Penicuik in the Midlothian council area.

Meanwhile, the wind has died down slightly but with gusts still reaching around 47 mph at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Currently around 11°C here in Edinburgh.

A litmus test for me at least for Spring, is when I can put up the outside rotary clothes dryer.
