I was in Retronland yesterday (Elmley, Kent) and it was a pleasant day for a change and the birds seemed to be enjoying being out in the sun. Today is back to normal for this winter  - bleak and grey with thick cloud. Just 3.9C in a strong N.E'ly  with a bit of drizzle here and there. Just what cold spells shouldn't be like!

Sleety hail 3c here

In the 80s it would have been snow.

3.7c and cloudy.

Light snow forecast here today, but with temps 1-2c it won't come to anything, I am heading to London anyway.

What an unusual day it's been weather wise, the complete opposite of yesterday. Strong and gusty ENE'lies, frequent rain and hail / graupel showers, with the tell-tale whooshing sound of the hail seemingly every few minutes! The temperature's gradually fallen through the day (down to 4.1/dew 2.4 now) - but even without the 1.5C of warming since the 80s, this would still have been too warm for snow.

The bits of hail last all of 3 seconds on the wet ground before they melt away.

Just been up to lock the church. It's about 4C but with strong easterly wind, judging by the flags on The Green. Made it feel mighty cold. I feel a 🥂 coming on.... There a hint of snow for tomorrow morning in the TWO daily forecast... Sadly no flying pig emoji. 🐷

The temp. here hasn't changed much today at all, it's now 4.5c which is up 0.3c on this morning. It's been grey and gloomy all day but the wind is a bit fierce and not so pleasant, if you're out and about. There's a definite wind chill factor going on here, today. I had to put my gloves on when I popped out just before lunch.

4.5C, wet, grey, miserable. Looks like, unusually, the whole Country has pretty much the same weather. Great isn't it!

Was thoroughly manky today, topped out at 5.3c, with drizzle for a large part of the day.

Skies have cleared now though and we're down to 0.5c.

No idea on what basis my station calculates 'average' temps but they're currently running at 3.6c for the month. So *if* we get some cold weather there's a decent chance of a second below average month.
