Overnight rain has now cleared away but although we have had the odd sunny interval first thing this morning, today has started off on a mostly cloudy note.

It's also milder than of late with a temperature of around 6°C here in Edinburgh.

An unexpected hard frost this morning, when MetO was forecasting a low of 2C overnight, which didn't clear till after midday in shady spots - despite bright sunshine and clear skies. Another hard frost already forming, with some mist as well - yet MetO forecast is a low of 3C. Is this a taste of things to come this month?

A bright day at times with sunny intervals, but a mostly cloudy day overall and it's also windy. Thankfully, it's nowhere near as windy as it was recently with Storm Eowyn but it's still windier than of late with winds gusting up to around 33 mph from the SW at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

It's also very mild with a temperature of around 11°C here in Edinburgh as this winter once again, continues to go completely down the toilet pan here.😡

Absolutely pathetic when you consider that this is still considered to be the very heart of winter for the very same reasons for which we would consider August to still be a part of high summer.😡

Despite the threat of cloud close by, today is turning out fair with good sunny breaks. The 9 C felt pleasantly Spring-like mild where my dark jacket soaked up the solar input from the noon sun when I popped out for top up shopping.

Bright and milder today it has reached 8C but quite breezy.

Spring stuff suddenly making rapid progress, snowdrops everywhere but not open yet.

First Lapwings shouting about claiming territory we call them Teahfits here.

They don't migrate but flock together on the coast through heart of winter so far as I know.

The winds at Edinburgh Gogarbank are now gusting up to around 40 mph from the SSW and even the earlier bright and sunny intervals have now completely disappeared.

It was a beautiful sunny day here on our way home from exercise class about noon, but now, 4pm, it has turned very grey.

A very windy, wild and noisy night here in Edinburgh (that noisiness is preventing me from being able to sleep) with the winds at Edinburgh Gogarbank gusting up to around 47 mph from the SSW, and it's just started raining here as well.

In addition to that, it's also very mild with the temperatures stuck at around 10°C here in Edinburgh.

The wind has now died down a bit but it's been a rather dull, damp and miserable day here in Edinburgh up until now with light rain and drizzle continuing to fall, and with the temperatures still stuck at around 10°C,

Here in Edinburgh, we have just had another pickup in the winds with a number of blustery showers still continuing to filter through the Forth-Clyde Valley towards here.

Currently around 8°C here in Edinburgh.
