A "heads up" that there's a documentary on BBC 4 this evening at 8 PM about the 1962-3 winter. The first 45 minutes are a programme made at the time by the "Tonight" team that is far superior to most modern documentaries about spells of severe weather, being full of hard data and lacking in hype. The last 15 minutes is Chris Packham describing the effect that the winter had on wildlife. It's been on several times before, but I think it's well worth seeing again.
