Feeling chilly outside in the breeze at -1.5°C currently. The daytime high was 0.4°C and there is a level cover of 7 cm of snow. By morning that depth will either be more or less depending on what is coming in from the north.

Today's high has been 2.9c here it's now 0.6c and still dropping. The sky has been clear all day too and that's still the case now so I believe there's a great chance it may get down to the -3c predicted.

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank is confirmed as 2.0°C on what was quite a sunny day.

Shortly after sunset, I had a nice view of Venus and the waxing crescent Moon.

The temperatures are dropping away nicely under these clear skies which is something which we've seen very little of during this winter so far. It's already around -2°C here in Edinburgh as I write with an official air frost already being recorded at all three of my local stations.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

The cool air didn’t really reach us until lunchtime with a max of 7.3c long sunny spells but the roads remained wet all day. Currently it’s 1.5c and fluctuating as the ENE breeze occasionally picks up warmer currents from the sea.

Presumably a slight shift in airflow direction as we have already risen from a low of -1.7c an hour ago up to -0.8c now.

At last, the first frost of winter! And it's a penetrating one too, as there's a slight breeze from the NW. The gap between the air temperature and dewpoint suggests it'd be even colder if not for the wind.

Skies are clear, it's -1.1, dew -2.7, which is the overnight low so far. Yesterday's high was a rather cold (by 91-20 standards) 5.9.

Milder this morning at 0.7c, partly cloudy. Showers not too far away and a wind off the Irish sea lifting the temp.

Clear, with a nice crisp white frost. -3.0C, unusual to see Chichester as the lowest reported here but ay 0700 from https://www.weatherobs.com/ the coldest appear to be -6.9 at Benson in Oxfordshire, -6.4 at Hurn, Bournemouth ((both on sandy soils which cool quickly) and  -5's here and there from Exeter to Teddington

Slightly less cold air has arrived from the NW so although yesterday morning's frost is still here, it is now 0 C (Yesterday evening fell to -3 C)

Clear skies so I'll be up the hill again after sunrise to see our snowy hills

0.5°C currently with snow showers around. Overnight snow gave another few centimetres on top of the existing snow cover. There’s still snow on the beach (except where the sea has been obviously!)

(For reference, most weather models still show no snow cover in Aberdeen)

Minus 3C here though without the slight breeze I think it would be lower. The heaths and valleys certainly so.

The first proper frost of the year and winter so far.

Clear and sunny now.

First proper hard frost of the winter here this morning. Minus 6 with everything white and seasonal. Leaves wilted by the cold on evergreen shrubs and thick ice on any standing water

"Only" down to -2.4c here on top of the hill, would have been colder down in Bucklebury village for sure.

A pretty late min, even for this time of year, given the min is a now temperature, not from an hour or so ago.

Blue skies, will run at lunchtime, it might be above 0c by then.

A frosty start to today but after dropping to a minimum of -1.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, the temperature then went back up to around +2°C during the early hours of this morning thanks to some nuisance cloud cover.😡

Since then though, that cloud cover has cleared away and this morning has started off on a bright and sunny not with the temperature dropping back a bit once again.

Currently around 0°C here in Edinburgh but slightly above freezing as I write.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Looking like a rare complete sunny day, feeling crisp at 2.4 C & mid 80% H with frost on grass and roof still present in the shade. Managed a min of -2.2 C at 6.20 am. Shame it's gonna turn crap yet again over the weekend.

2nd day of frost persisting all day, hasn't melted at all in this sunless area below the hill. Clear sky all day again.

We reached +1.5 C this afternoon but we are already down to 0.5 C
