The rain is horrible, flash flooding and torents of water down the hilly roads.

26mm so far and still hammering down, most of it in the last hour or so.

A very mild day today, with plenty of cloud and a few mm of rain. The wind's picking up now, heralding a change to cooler conditions overnight.

12.8, dew 11.7, the max being a balmy-feeling 14.2 at noon. Last night's low was 7.4.

Surprised that there's been no warning associated with today's rain. It's been torrential here at times with very strong and Gusty winds. Lots of local flooding on the roads.

Currently 10.6c and raining

Well those dark red echoes that surged across Yorkshire earlier have got the eerie sound of the flood warnings going in The Calder Valley and a possible tornado event in Stoke on Trent. Social media is full of reports of local flooding and tree damage from this afternoon's feature.

Clear and breezy, with winds from the WNW. I'm more exposed to that direction (there just being gentle rolling hills for a couple of miles, then cliffs) and it's no surprise that there have been some punchy gusts already. I was woken up just after 2AM by one such gust - it would have been around 50mph judging by the noise of the guttering creaking!

It'll be the relative calm before the storm today. My postie neighbour still hasn't bothered replacing his manky old fence panel, just propped it up, so that will probably not survive until Monday - and there's a good chance of his massive trampoline blowing into his neighbour's fence on the other side, as he never bothers tying it down.

6.4, dew 3.0, and feeling chilly in the breeze. 6.4 is the same as the overnight low, and yesterday's high was 14.2. No wonder it feels much colder today!

Cool dawn this morning at 7c, yesterday’s dawn temperature was 12.8c. A nice golden sunrise between medium and high level cloud. Winds calm at the moment, not even the tall grasses in the field are moving. Pressure is currently 1021 steady.

Sunny, 6.4C. Dry after 10mm yesterday which fell mainly before light and after dark. Not that windy - yet, so not a bad couple of days really.

Temperature has steadily dropped from 3.1c late afternoon to 0.2c at 11 pm. Rain late afternoon turned to wet snow early evening and settling more and more as the temperature has dropped. Not much wind yet from the storm but expected pm Saturday as the LP heads into the North sea.

Wet and windy here already 6.6c. Can hear the stronger gusts roar between our house and the neighbours garage, quite the wind tunnel there.

A thoroughly wet and miserable start to day here in Edinburgh as our frost-free horror show goes on.

A total of 24.0 mm of rain has been recorded from this particular event so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank and it's still raining as I write. This makes yesterday our wettest day of the winter so far by quite a considerable amount, thus giving rise to a thoroughly wet start to this winter and this month within what has already been a wetter than average year despite the very dry November which we had.

Currently around 6°C here in Edinburgh and not even the least bit cold.😡

The rain has cleared away from here for now and although it's fairly windy, it's nowhere near as windy as it is in other parts of the UK although it continues to remain dull and gloomy with a temperature of around 7°C here in Edinburgh.
