The first two are from my garden (and there's a lamp post right outside, I hid it behind a tree) and the third is from a nearby road, without street lighting.

Lots of green and pink with a recent patch of red.

Not as good as May, no structure to the colour but we may yet get something later!

Too much cloud here atm to see anything. I'm hoping it will clear soon and that the Aurora is still going when it does.

The red glow initially from the Aurora was remarkable even from here in the city. By the time I got out to somewhere a bit darker it had faded quite a bit.

I've been outside watching and taking pics for the last hour. Bit chilled now lol. Going to take a look at them in a moment. indeed, It's been a very vivid Reddish pink, almost fuchsia and I watched it slowly progress and grow across the sky from southeast to northwest. It's been great and I would have stayed out longer but I don't think my kidneys would thank me, without a warm top or jacket! Time to warm up for a bit.

Me and my youngest have just got back from Parbold Hill. Simply amazing - could easily see it with the naked eye. We both took some superb pics & video.

All these posts and no photos? Come on guys, let's see them! 😁

https://postimages.org/  if you don't have anywhere else - although there's a gallery (or used to be) on this very site.

A slightly different one from me this morning - I missed out on the really spectacular stuff, as it was around midnight, but there's still some action this morning, and across the sky too - first time I've ever seen the aurora overhead, and to the south! Again with the naked eye it's a case of looking at some faint redness in the sky, but the camera shows what's going on.

Here's a comparison between a Pixel 6 in "night mode" - good enough, TBH, and the same shot with a proper camera, a Panasonic FZ1000 bridge camera set to a 12-second exposure.

...and the same shot, same camera, in RAW mode, with the Windows photo viewer. I need to get some proper photo-processing software, but it shows the idea - the aurora actually covers most of the sky this morning!

UserPostedImageThese were taken from my bathroom window at 10pm with a pretty cheap smartphone with  1sec exposure. It was very clear to the naked eye at that time with flickering and movement even here in a built up area.  Looks like around Midnight would have been even better. I was out earlier and could see some with the naked eye but not as good as 10pm. These are actually looking  ENE.
