A tad warmer than I would like, but not at all unpleasant - it's very humid, but we've a sea breeze at long last, and it moderates the effects.

Flawless blue skies, 23.8 / dew 18.9, with a breeze from the ENE - the sea is half a mile away.

The high so far is 24.8 and, for once, the temperatures so far have been 2 or 3 degrees below the forecast of both GFS and MetO. I don't mind heatwaves as much if they're only virtual ones. 😁

EDIT: And as we go into the evening, the sea breeze continues! Down to 22.1 / dew 16.8 now, so fingers crossed a decentish night's sleep to come. And it'll be all the sweeter as the models were still showing 26 for now... a rare case of them overcooking temperatures. It'll be the sea breeze which did it... the other week when it was stupidly hot the winds were skewed just too far to the south to pick up cool air from the sea.

I thought it felt a bit cooler than expected today in London. It's hot yes, but not horrendous for walking around. Max seems to have been 28.8c at St James Park which is the area I have been in,  there has been a decent breeze too.

Edinburgh reached 20 C today and it's still 18 C at nearly 7pm. It was cloudy for most of today with the odd spot of rain. Looks like we may reach 20 or 21 C for most of the week....but will it be sunny? 🤔

Max of 28.3c and the lack of humidity made a huge difference for a 5pm walk.

Already down to 20.4c so all the doors and windows open of course.

It's now 17.3, dew 16.2, after an overnight low of 14.9. Yesterday's high was 24.8.

No heatwaves here. 14 C at the moment and mostly sunny. We could reach 21 C here today after yesterday's 20 C which is above average of course. A cooling west wind, Force 3 just now

19.0°C and sunny here currently. It looks like being another pleasant and warmer than average day here.

The last few days (and next few) look like being a little oasis of summer in a desert of disappointment here this season.

Lincolnshire big skies get the occasional funnel cloud or tornado. The thundery forecast for Thursday suggests it might be worth keeping our eyes open!

This swirling tornado-like cloud was spotted over south Lincolnshire and indicates a region of intensely low pressure. May 2023.

Already touching 27 C at 9.30 am and the high 60% H is putting dewpoints at a rather swampy 21 C. The sun is slightly more hazy due to some high cloud but even that is now thinning up.

For comparison, only seven years between 1960 and 1982 reached 90F!

Also I note the minimum at Sennybridge was just 4.9C last night - pretty chilly for the time of year. I certainly noticed the chill at night up in Yorkshire over the weekend.

24.3C The earlier high cloud has more or less gone and it's a deliciously warm day.

Anyone on holiday here in Dorset, especially those living in tents, should apparently make the most of it today.

A cooling west breeze here, 18 C at 1130 so shorts and t shirt weather, but only just! At least it's mostly sunny which for this year is a huge plus!

However just got back from the southsea/town part of the island and it is much cooler feeling than the northern half if the city. Something of a gentle sea breeze blowing there and temperatures feeling more like the 26-28C range.
