I'll shortly be adding to TWO a 3D Earth weather map with forecast data.  It has full zoom, and stop - start capabilities.

There's a short video of the alpha version of it in the Tweet below. It is fully integrated with the website, working on all devices.

Thank you Brian. The proof will be in the pudding but I love these kinds of application.

A sneak preview of 3D Earth Weather is now available to those of you with premium access. Please note:

1) It is an early development version and there are known bugs

2) The overlays are currently very limited

3) Overlay updates are not scheduled yet, so stale data is being displayed

Just uploaded a new version which:

1) Includes wind gust and direction layer

2) Slider bar which you can use to manually go forwards and backwards through the sequences

3) Outline Earth layers (white and black) in addition to the existing ones

4) Globe rotation and layer animation are not started by default on load - you start them

5) Bug fixes

Messing around with it here and it looks very good.

One suggestion I would put forward for any future consideration by Brian is perhaps the option to overlay MSLP (in the classic 4 hPa increments!) with the 850hPa temp profile. Would be a great way to help identify frontal boundaries and short wave troughs etc better.
