Not a bad afternoon here, good sunny spells and 18 C with light winds. Big shower clouds to my north and northwest though 🤔

So far though, that hasn't actually come to much.

EDIT:

Torrential rain is now falling here in NW Edinburgh which may well get to where you are in the south of Edinburgh before too long but today is slightly warmer than yesterday with the temperatures now much closer to the 1991-2020 July average.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

The last 24 hours have been as bad as any I remember in July in my neck of the woods. Torrential rain and now strong winds. Max temperature so far today of 14.2C! The local weather station has recorded 43mm since this time yesterday

The downpour John mentioned missed here, it moved east south east across the city to my north. However there are bright echoes and sferics to our WNW towards Falkirk
