Taking a look how come Arctic Circle had been lot warmer than here lately this month? 20C is very low for your location compare to 27C reached over Lapland which should give Scotland around 33-34C and 37-38C in southern UK .  Still overcast and cool here thanks to the goal posts being moved to delay the warming up that supposed to start from yesterday.

It's presently 17.4, dew 12.5, with a high so far of 18.1.

Last night's low was 13.2 and yesterday's high was 19.7.

Little less humid feeling compared to yesterday. 

Yes a little cooler here today, only 21.4c, but another beautiful sunny day again. 3rd BBQ day this week and looking like more for the rest of the week.

(The MetO automated has 25 tomorrow, 4C above normal, while the text forecast has a high of 24C. It's unusual for the automated to be warmer than the human forecast, so we'll see!)

This means that the slow and gradual descent towards next winter starts here and it's just a shame that we haven't really had much of a summer up until now which is in complete contrast to this this time last year when I was down in Hawick enjoying what ended up being last summer's only decent spell of weather.

In fact, yesterday was our second warmest day of this summer so far, and that was with a maximum temperature of only 19.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank which shows just how poor this summer has been so far as regards to the temperatures as we're now two thirds of the way through the month.

Nevertheless, those temperatures are at least where they should be at this time of year and given that it is the day of the summer solstice, it is now summer regardless of how you actually define that.

Meanwhile, this morning has started off on a rather boring and non-descript note here in Edinburgh. It's largely cloudy with just the odd break in that cloud and even the odd brighter interlude, but with nothing actually happening in terms of our weather.

Yesterday was a decent enough day, especially in the afternoon where I was able to sit in my famed west-facing front door porch facing the afternoon sun while sheltered from the NE breeze. Temps peaked at 19.6 C at 3 pm.

Another BBQ beckons tonight, 4 in a row.

The skies are clear (normal), there's no wind (normal), but it's in single figures (unusual) and there's shallow fog blanketing the countryside (very rare for late June).

It's presently 9.5, dew 8.4, which is the overnight low so far. Yesterday's high was 19.4.
