Somewhat surprised to see a low of 3.9C recorded at 4.35 am.  Not in a frost hollow either - that’s half a mile down the road.

Last night was a chilly night here in Edinburgh as the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank dropped to just 5.9°C. That isn't anything like cold enough for us to be even close to getting a ground frost or anything like that, but that's still cold for this time of the year.

However, last night was a clear night. Although we had an exceptionally dull spring this year with May being a really exceptionally dull month, we are starting to get a few clear nights now and that is helping us to get a much better view of the twilight which lasts all night at this time of year due to the nights being so short (we're not much more than two weeks away from the summer solstice after all).

This morning has started off on a bright note with some decent sunshine, especially to begin with but there's also a lot of cloud around along with a cold wind.

Currently around 9°C here in Edinburgh.

A few blustery showers coming through now with strong sun inbetween. Maximum is 12 C so far but only 9 or 10 C down the spine of Scotland and Northern England

Here in the north of Edinburgh, there are now a number of showers coming through and as for the temperatures, this is just getting ridiculous now as the temperature here in Edinburgh is just a really cool (for this time of year) 12°C and even briefly dropping to as low as around 8°C in those heavier showers.🤢

It's certainly not feeling anything like summer at the moment, and I'm even having to wear a warm jumper if I venture outside.🤢

EDIT:

We're currently experiencing another downpour here in NW Edinburgh which even has some hailstones mixed in with it.

Fair with sunny breaks and partial cloud, 17.2 C & mid 50% H giving a DP of 7. That and a mod W breeze are what prevented me from sitting outside at my famed west-facing front door porch this afternoon but it was comfortable enough to walk into town for a bit of shopping.

Another pleasant day today, and although not quite as warm as recent we've still managed 20C. Looking like a decent week ahead 😉

A pleasant enough day of very strong sunshine, a gentle breeze from the NW and a few bits of cloud from time to time. Temperatures are dead on the 91-20 average, with a max of 19.1 so far. Anyone feeling cold for some reason would be advised to push a mower around for an hour, as I did earlier - it would have been very unpleasant if it was much warmer!

EDIT: 25C upstairs with the windows open, so the portable a/c will get wheeled out for a bit later. That's the trouble with this time of year, that sun is STRONG and heats things up in no time.

Hovering between 12c and 14c here all afternoon and feels very pleasant out, even in the stiff wind. Anyone who requires it to be warmer than this I am convinced are lizards. 😂

Looks like the 4000ft'ers had an ice day. Decent dusting of new snow this evening on the Glencoe summit webcam, some windblown snow down to 2500ft on CairnGorm tonight. Feels like the weather is rubbing our noses in it after a poor ski season! 😫

Started off fair with some sunny breaks this morning then solar-powered cloud filled in more of the sky in the afternoon as they drifted in from inland. If the airflow was more onshore than my location would have done better with sunshine amounts. A cool fresh feeling 15.9 C & mid 70% H currently after a peak of 18.9 C at 1.10 pm, it fell down to 9.6 C at 1 am which made for a comfortable night's sleep.

However I've not recorded any rainfall for a week, that makes a change!

Some early showers here, but it soon brightened up, though it's remained quite breezy. A high of just 14.5°C though, which is quite unusual for June, especially when there's been quite a lot of sunshine about too.

A cloudy afternoon here and not much wind - so it's still managed to get to 24C upstairs.

Currently 17.4, dew 9.6, with the high today being 18.4C - around 1C below the 91-20 average.

Another largely sunny day here, and with a high of 20.8 so far it's a warmer than average one.

Currently 20.3, dew 8.9.

Today is the seventh day with no measurable rainfall - there have been two occasions in the last week where a few drops fell, but not enough to even wet the ground, let alone tip the rain gauge.

It's been a fairly bright day here in Edinburgh but with the odd shower earlier on and although the Sun is shining here just now, a total of just 4.8 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

In addition to that, it's still not even the least bit warm here for this time of year with today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank only reaching 14.9°C.🤢

Currently around 12°C here in Edinburgh.
