Might as well make it a weekly thing if that is alright with Brian and everyone else.

Rather overcast with a cool-feeling 6.3 C & mid 80% H in light winds.

Switching from daily to weekly threads for the current conditions is certainly a good idea in my books, so I have no problems with that.

Just now is one good example of why this is the case because the fact that it is now after midnight means that I would have previously have had to start a new thread to report what the weather is like here just now due to the fact that we are now technically into a new day as a result of it being after midnight.

That to me seems a bit silly when the previous day's thread had possibly no more than just a few posts in it and we have recently come across an increasing number of days as well, when no daily threads were even being started for that particular day.

The switch to weekly threads on the other hand, removes that previous need to start a new thread for the current weather conditions as we are still within the same week which this thread covers, whilst this also deals with the problem of no posts at all on certain days which has recently cropped up.

Anyway and back on topic, there's not much to report for here in Edinburgh as we enter the wee small hours of Monday morning and the start of the new working week.

It's breezy here in Edinburgh just and rather cloudy. As a result, the temperatures are refusing to drop and are currently at around 5°C here in Edinburgh and not even the least bit cold.😡

Fair with some sunshine and broken altocumulus. 7.7 C & mid 70% H but a mod W breeze is adding some freshness.

Indeed, John, just thought a weekly current thread might save on clutter and hopefully revive some interest in our weather. 😂

The main thing which might actually revive some interest in our weather, would be if we actually got some interesting weather in the first place which was actually worth reporting, but I see no signs of that on the latest model output just now and there has even been a number of times just recently when I have even had thoughts about quitting this forum not because of anything which is wrong with it per say or because of any of its members (who have all been very supportive and understanding of the various conditions which I also have to live with), but simply because the weather itself just isn't the least bit interesting any more and of course, there's no point in pursuing anything in life which you just aren't interested in.

Here in Edinburgh, that winter borefest goes on and after the temperatures refused to drop during last night, today started off with another frost-free horror show as a result. It's just a standard sunny day here in Edinburgh with temperatures of around 8°C which aren't even the least bit cold for this time of the year, especially when you consider that we should be in the coldest part of the year just now, and in the winter equivalent of high summer.😡

Who or what is MyLondon? Anyway, they are predicting that London is about to be hit by "a wall of snow". Which doesn't seem to tally qith any weather forecast I've seen recently! How are they able to get away with publishing such unsubstantiated twadddle?

Today turned out quite lovely where I was able to feel the apricity of the noon sun during a quick constitutional of the harbour area and the early afternoon sun did a good job in heating up my west-facing living room. It peaked at 9 C and the 70% H in a brisk W breeze has nicely shifted the recent dampness. I don’t know the current temp as I’m downstairs watching The Simpsons. 😅

Just been up the hill, hard work in the strong gusty westerly and horizontal showers! 5 C down at the house but probably only 3 or 4 C at the top. The feeling in my face is returning slowly!

Here in Edinburgh, the weather has actually been more interesting today than what it has been for quite a long time.

After a bright start, a number of showers are now coming through at times and although this hasn't led to any significant rainfall totals here, there has been the nice appearance of the odd rainbow at times as the Sun then reappears after each of these showers has passed through.

It is also very windy here with the wind at Edinburgh Gogarbank gusting up to a maximum of 43.7 mph from the west as at 12 noon on Tuesday 31 January 2023 with a temperature of around 5°C here in Edinburgh.

There is now a much heavier and more prolonged shower over us as I write, which has now turned to sleet and wet snow here in the north of Edinburgh as it has turned that bit colder.
