White Rabbits!!
Today is of course, the first day of the meteorologal winter (if we want to be really strict, I should really say that meteorological winter doesn't actually start until 9am GMT (09:00 UTC) this morning since that is the official start of the observation day according to the Met Office, but I like to go by the actual calendar day when it comes to those descriptions) and it is just typical that after a couple of recent frosty mornings, this winter is now starting off here with the usual frost-free horror show which has been all too common in recent winters.😡
That has happened as a result of the temperatures not only refusing to drop during last night, but actually going up from where they were at around tea-time during yesterday evening.
There are still a few hours to go until sunrise as I write, so it's still pitch dark here but this morning has started off on a rather damp, misty and drizzly note here in Edinburgh (that drizzle has even been enough to result in 1.0 mm of rain being recorded at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh during the night as at 5am GMT (05:00 UTC) this morning, but with barely anything at all on that front at Edinburgh Gogarbank).
Meanwhile, the temperature at 6am GMT (06:00 UTC) this morning was around 4°C here in Edinburgh, which isn't even the least bit cold for this time of the year.😡
