Meanwhile, Thunderstorms in the SW as chewing their way up though Devon. I don't think they are coming fast enough to interfere with the temp rise in Eastern areas but should provide some relief here by this evening

36.4° here at 11:15. Humidity still low at 23%. Breeze from the SE. Just astonishing weather. Loving it.

32.0c here, rising rapidly now the sun is less hazy , staggering for the time of day, and plenty of heating time to go.

Is that a 37.3C in Charlwood I see?

4 x 36C in my temperature watch zone. Won’t be long until a 37C now.
Join the fun and banter of the monthly CET competition.
Indeed it is, and it’s not even in the red area. ST James Park and others 36+ too.
Crikey! At that rate you could beat the record by midday!

36c now.
Keep on topic . I've just removed one quite unecessary post from someone.
Cambridge Botanical Garden reading in from yesterday - it was 38.0c
Just 0.7C to go. I think alot of places will get to 39C or 40C.
Still holding steady at 31.5 C& 42% H = 17 C DP at my end. That's plenty hot enough for me with fans hard at work. I'd like to see a new record go along with the first 40 C, but just not here in my back yard please.
Which station location are you using Duane? Watnall only has 34.1 at 11am.
Based on local/private weather stations around the EM's on my phone/PC.
Not sure what mine is and I wont know until I get home.
I am in Gent at the moment with a hair dryer wind blowing with an air temp of 35.
The record here is 40.3 from 2019 and unlikely to be broken.
UK in the sweet spot for record breaking temps but the weather in my home town of Brixham is apparently very dramatic with heavy thunderstorms coming through right now.
Quite the plume you could say!

Just like 25 July 2019 when it read 0.5C higher than Cambridge NIAB. Something to note today when considering Cambridge NIAB's reading and while waiting to hear the Botanic Garden one.
