I have to laugh when I read about temps struggling to beat 38c. That's virtually a UK record!

Just saw Arome HD for tomorrow giving 38c IMBY and 40c in some areas of Kent. I hope it's wrong, but it's been very accurate for my locale today.

To see a map like this with temps of 35-36C right across the southern half of the country is just madness.

Rounded 36s starting to appear across the Midlands and as far north as Cheshire and Doncaster.

No change to 34c here. Think that will be the max today.
At least it will be mild!

The Scottish record is 32.9C so no record there.

NI record is 31.3C so no record there either.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

27.6c here and 29c for Camborne, that’s not bad for a narrow piece of land 10 miles wide and surrounded by the Atlantic in a gusty ENE wind with high cloud.

It very rubbish one, I seen better 35-36C sharp blue skies back in 1995. 2006 and 2018 summers without a cloud.  Been cloudy for nearly 1 hour so cancelled the temperature reading today as void. Try again tomorrow and then good riddance to this cloudy heatwave.

My PWS currently reading 39.2C This is definitely over reading due to it's position. Based on previous records, I think the over read is about 1.1 - 1.5C. The next nearest station on Wunderground is at the local school and reads 37C. I know this is in deep shade at this time of day whereas mine is exposed. .

34.6 degrees here. It’s only ever been hotter on one day in July 2006 here when it reached 35C.

Previous maxes in heatwave are usually 32-33 ish.

Absolutely fine in the shade and not that bad in the sun thanks to the ultra low humidity.

If the interim PWS readings on weatherobs are anything to go by, the 4pm readings across E Anglia are going to be pretty high!

Watered plants on front porch a couple of hours ago and the concrete is still wet, despite the 30c direct sunshine and breeze. Amazing really.
