Seems quite cool for down there .

15.7c, low 15.3c so quite mild for here,  with fairly thick high level cloud, seems to be thinning from the west though.

Yes, it's the lack of wind -and cloud - which has helped. There are a few slight puffs of wind now and of course the sun is rising quickly into the sky, it won't be cool for much longer.

13.4 / 12.5C now and I expect at least a couple of degrees an hour for the next few hours.

A phenomenal rate of increase here... from 14.8C to 22.3C in the space of 90 minutes. Seems high, but all the other stations within a few miles are showing 23-25!

Here in Edinburgh, we have (er!!..) typical Edinburgh weather which is just as boring and uninteresting as it usually is here.

Today has started off on a dull and overcast note, but with nothing in the way of any sort of actual "weather" which could be considered to be the least bit "interesting".

The rain radar maps are showing some light rain here and there is just a tiny amount of drizzle in the air, but this has barely been enough to even dampen the ground in any way, let alone provide us with any actual recorded rainfall at any of my local stations and everything still looks more or less as bone dry as ever here.

However, last night was already much warmer than of late with much warmer nights than that still to come in the next day or so.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 14.3°C.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 9am BST (08:00 UTC) was already at around 19°C here in Edinburgh so even at this very stage of today, we can easily see that it could actually end up getting quite hot here if and when the Sun comes out later on.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Yet another VILE day of miserable wet grey grot. 15.9C with 4.8mm of rain so far

The coldest ever 'heatwave' in the wettest and dullest ever high pressure dominated month.

This month is a surreal sick joke. Mean pressure 6mb above average yet at no point has it felt like we have been under the influence of high pressure. Barely any clear skies for even a brief period. Just one day with 10 hours of sun.

Truly dreadful and on a par with cyclonic Julys like 2012 and 2015 which are the only Julys I've recorded with a lower sunshine total on the sunniest day than this pathetic July has managed so far

Mmm... what I wouldn't give to have that kind of weather here!

It's a world away, of course. Sunny, the odd light puff of wind and 25.8C / dew 13.6C.
