Here in Edinburgh, there is still a lot of cloud around, but also some decent sunny spells at times.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 18°C at Edinburgh Airport, 18.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and no higher than 18.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

This makes last night, our warmest night of this year so far by quite a considerable amount with the possibility that last night might even have been our warmest night on record here in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am BST (07:00 UTC) this morning was around 19°C here in Edinburgh.

EDIT:

I've just noticed that the temperature at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh had already gone back up above 20°C as at 8am this morning with the temperature at Edinburgh Airport having gone back up to 21°C at that time, although today is supposed to become cooler as a cold front moves in from off the Atlantic and sweeps all of that hot air away from here.

It's quite clear the front is way further south than predicted even twelve hours ago. It looks like rain may be about to start even if it's light. The front wasn't even due until overnight tonight. Quite a poor call it seems.

Cloudy, still, and around 21C.

Quite a warm 24.1 C & 70% H despite more in the way of high cloud making the sun hazy, but I am still feeling the benefits of an onshore sea breeze.

27.2 / 17.4 on the other side of the Kent coast... it's really sultry out there and it's not even lunchtime yet!

According to the radar maps, the cold front passed through some time ago and yet, I have seen absolutely no evidence of that in terms of our actual weather which shows that Edinburgh just doesn't get actual "interesting" weather like it used to (extremes in temperatures such as the possibility of our warmest night on record don't count as actual "weather" in my books as those are just statistics).

I don't recall ever seeing even a drop of rain to speak of and cloud amounts have been largely unchanged here since sunrise as our actual weather continues to be as boring and uninteresting as ever.

In addition to that, there hasn't been anything like the typical sudden change in temperatures which we might often expect to see when a weather front passes through.

In fact, the only evidence of that front having passed through which I can see is that the temperature has now dropped back slightly, and is refusing to rise any further, although it has now become quite windy and that wind is now starting to have a much fresher feel to it.

As at 10am BST (09:00 UTC) this morning, the temperature here in Edinburgh was around 20°C (and just below that at Edinburgh Gogarbank).

Could you please send some of that rain here, as we badly need it for our gardens and the east of Scotland is currently in a serious water scarcity situation.

The rain radar shows mainly light rain bands pushing quite far south across the Midlands and northern Home Counties. But it is possible that the rain is not reaching the ground. I'm in the office today and can't see outside to tell you what's happening at Luton Airport!

24.6C and calm but surprised to see the radar and forecast which has light rain here in Dorset later. Could have sworn when I woke up, the forecast was for dry all day but bright and cloudy. Some rain would be welcome though.

I suspect that is the case. According to the radar I should be expreriencing light rain at the momemt. However the clouds don't look particularly low or threatennig rain, in fact it's quite bight.
