Yet another dull start to yet another day here in Edinburgh with only the odd isolated brighter interlude as this very dull start to July goes on in this part of the world within what has also been a duller than average summer so far in these parts.

However, today isn't as windy as yesterday.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 10.6°C which is exactly the same as it was on the previous night.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am BST (07:00 UTC) this morning was around 13°C here in Edinburgh.

The Sun is shining here in Edinburgh, and the temperature here in Edinburgh was around 17°C at 3pm (14:00 UTC) this afternoon.

Looks like our Edinburgh weather is better than the Lake District weather once again and although Arty always beats me these days when it comes to his local area's rainfall totals these days, he isn't beating me at the moment as regards to the actual weather in his area.

However, a total of just 0.6 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 3pm (14:00 UTC) this afternoon which is absolutely abysmal yet again.

Been a fair day with bright spells and some cloud, although I think it has been more cloudier today compared to yesterday.

A middling 19.7 C (73% H) from a peak of 20.6 C at 10.30 am. Light NW breeze.

Ha!! Ha!!

Beat you with that one as well as the temperature here in Edinburgh as at 5pm BST (16:00 UTC) this afternoon was around 20°C which is a bit warmer than of late.

In the end, today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 20.1°C which is fairly warm, but not really all that spectacular for this time of the year.

Yet, that was still enough to make today (along with the very first day of this month) our joint warmest day of this month so far which shows how disappointing this month's temperatures have been so far in this part of the world.

As at 8pm BST (19:00 UTC) this evening, a total of just 2.5 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank which is more like our daily average in the middle of winter, and it has also clouded over here yet again.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm BST (19:00 UTC) was around 16°C here in Edinburgh.
