Hill walking again today and it's a bright, mostly cloudy and breezy start, 12 C in Ambleside

Yesterday continued our poor Spring and Summer. We could hardly stand at 400m on Wansfell with a fierce wind and single figure temperatures! Gloves and layers were needed. Windermere was so choppy, only good for the wind surfers!

A mostly cloudy start to today here in Edinburgh with a few showers already around, and only the odd isolated brighter spell although it's not quite as windy as it has been just lately.

Last night was a bit cooler than of late and the overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 9.9°C.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am BST (07:00 UTC) was around 11°C here in Edinburgh.

Rubbish weekend despite being under synoptics which should be favouring the NE with decent sunny spells throughout the day 

Yesterday saw only early morning and evening sunshine with the peak of the day subject to near unrelenting grey grot rendered even more unpleasant due to the wind.

Today looks as though it is going to be exactly the same 

Sun has been shining but becoming increasingly hazy as a vile mass of overcast invades. Absolutely ridiculous - the cloud is more broken in the west. It truly beggars belief that yet again we are enduring conditions that defy rational explanation

Another poor Summer's day up here with showers and that strong wind again. Managed a walk up Loughrigg but gloves on again!
15 C in the valleys but single figures at 300m! Brrrr......

A fairly reasonable day here in the end with more in the way of sunshine as the day wore on, though with a total of only 6.1 hours of actual recorded sunshine at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

However, today was even even cooler than yesterday and not even the least bit warm for this time of the year with a maximum temperature of just 15.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 9pm this evening was around 12°C here in Edinburgh.
