Everything taken together, here in Lincolnshire are more good things than man could have had the conscience to ask.

Thanks - interesting. I'm slightly puzzled about the 'clearing a path' as I thought space was a void?

"AN ALIGNMENT OF PLANETS: Check out the sunset sky this week. Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus are getting together with the Moon for a beautiful series of conjunctions."
Look SW for tonight's planets! Excellent."AN ALIGNMENT OF PLANETS: Check out the sunset sky this week. Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus are getting together with the Moon for a beautiful series of conjunctions."https://spaceweather.com/Roger
That’s good timing as we were on our way home and I pointed out the bright dots in the sky, and wondered what they were.
They looked great as I walked down our lane at about 5pm. You could try getting your binocs/scope on them. You should just see the Galilean moons and Saturn's rings.

Comet Leonard could become a naked eye object later this month. See:

Update from spaceweather.com: "Comet Leonard (C/2021 A3) is approaching Earth for a close encounter (35 million km away) on Dec. 12th."

"The comet is a real ‘tree scraper’ and will remain so until we lose it from view after mid-month.The best views of the comet are still to be had in the hours before dawn, when it is high in the sky for several hours before sunrise."Roger
Far too many clouds around to be spotted in my area.
Some people walk in the rain.
Others just get wet.

Not seen much naked eye objects around here lately (only really good day was 10 Dec). There's supposed to be a high pressure coming soon, giving much more atmospheric stability, but probably most likely to be an anticyclonic gloom type. Still worth keeping a close check for any window of clear skies, say in lee of mountains or in any Pm airmasses.

The Moon is about 384,000 km away ...
I walk west down our lane every evening on my way to lock up the local church. When the sky has been clear I have been able to watch a splendid display of planets: Saturn, Jupiter and Venus - now fading out of sight into the sunset glow as a crescent. The crescent Moon has joined the this evening for a very dramatic show. One can't make out Mercury with the naked eye, or Neptune or Uranus. Little piece here by Pete Lawrence. It's not too late to catch some of them.https://www.skyatnightmagazine.com/advice/see-planets-christmas/
