Since this thread is for reporting the latest weather observations and since I am now only really dealing with one local station on this forum, I have decided to take the same approach with this thread from now on, as what I take with the monthly PW threads which should ensure that any complaints about the actual weather are confined to the moaning thread where they belong.

Of course, this sudden disappearance of available data is exactly the reason why I created another thread on this very subject, which has attracted a lot of attention and comments, although that is now listed on a different page on the list of topics on this forum.

Edinburgh Airport is one of the stations which I used to be able get data for from weathercast before that went offline.

I have been able to get the raw METAR data for Edinburgh Airport from Ogimet.com but if you are looking for a more user friendly version of the data for Edinburgh Airport, a good place to go to is timeanddate.com.

That is a mostly a site for astronomy enthuiasts, but it also has a section which deals with weather as well. It turns out as well that if you look in ther for the weather in Edinburgh, it is always the data for Edinburgh Airport which it points to, although this gas the downside that you can't get any rainfall data from there for this neck of the woods as a result.

With that though, I have been able to get data for Edinburgh Airport which goes all the way back towards the beginning of this century which is now over 20 years ago.

I will look into that, but will reply over on that other thread so that I don't go too far off-topic here.
