Massive biblical storm over Kent heads this way on a direct collision course, and by the time it gets here it's reduced to three rumbles of thunder, and rather than cats and dogs the rain is more like an old man with prostate problems. Pathetic.
Was not like this in the past as everywhere used to get it fair and share. Nothing heard of thunder here only short heavy rain yesterday evening and surprised that after getting 33C here which is good for this 130m location still does not produce mega storms. Really you need to go abroad to see snow, storms and sunny heatwaves.
Thunderstorms? what thunderstorms? Just a piddling little shower.
Don't take the news footage from Dorset as typical - it's 50 miles away and so in a different world
These storms have been pathetic in the SE. Or at least in some parts. I feel like all the good energy stored up is now gone. Spectacular storms were the only thing keeping me sane during the last three days. I’ve not seen a decent proper thunderstorm in years.
Last time I saw proper storm was in Chicago in 2014 summer oh boy, lot of lightning, thunder and heavy rain and the temperatures there that time was on average 30C? While here 33C did nothing? Also in Chicago there was no stupid clouds around the storm cells, was sunny and clear zones.
You had a storm? You were lucky. Here in South Essex there has not been even a spit of rain for 18 days. I saw one flash of lightning and a rumble of thunder last night. The grass is dead and covered with a thick layer of dead brown leaves fallen from the Silver Birch. Just 11mm of rain in the last month. Great though if you like long dry sunny hot Springs and Summers. Probably only second to '76 and 2003 here. Not great if you are a gardener though !
A storm in Dorset DEW? They don't churn em out like they used to as Jiries says.
The news reports may be so but for me sandwiched between the coast and the Dorset Snow Sports Centre, yesterday was a mega fail on the convective front. It looks autumnal here with leaves on the turn because of the long long dry and today grey and November like after what seems weeks and months of sunshine. Soon be Spring again.
With the crapfest due from mid next week it would have been a great time to be in France, where it will remain quite warm and sunny. A shame that I've just had to cancel my long booked holiday there because of the new quarantine restrictions.
Still, at least I don't have a child going through A Level results this week.
It was yet another hot sultry night for sleeping with a night-time minimum of 20c and an indoor bedroom temperature of 28c. :(
Don't worry, a fan and a bucket of ice-water will sort it (apparently).
It'll be nice to see the back of these 17-20C dewpoints, but that won't be for another few days...
You have my absolute sympathy, mate
I found last night to be much, much fresher. I don't mind those really hot nights, but last night felt lovely.
The disgusting garbage continues today, misty drizzly rain , dark and gloomy 17c , No sun yesterday, and does not look like it will make a show today. Rancid weather

I was supposed to be in Glencoe just now but had to cancel. That is one of the few parts of the country getting decent weather at the moment while here it's disgusting sunless grey muck and 15C. Absolutely awful week of weather here with practically no sun apart from on Wednesday
I am livid about this. It's just a complete pisstake. Guaranteed to have been raining there and fine here if I had been able to go
There is an odious breeze coming in from the East. It really is dark, dank and filthy pathetic weather.
No storms at all. I'd rather have the heat back that this dreadful mess.

You were moaning about how hot your flat was and the great British weather is dealing with it and now you are moaning again.
I know, but I have had to fish out the hoody now
