It's a little clearer in the other direction towards London, but still more than 50% cloudy I'd say.

Big sudden rise at the Heathrow proxy. 33.9C now, so likely above 34C for the official station.

I have some of that here, but it's just cirrus so shouldn't affect temperature more than marginally unless it thickens into cirrostratus. Nothing mid level yet, and a few dots of cumulus which seem harmless enough. Any disruption in these conditions is likely to be mid based anyway - altocumulus, like yesterday.

Beautiful, proper looking summer sky on that cam regardless.

Heathrow proxy now at 35C
My heatwatch areas are widely into the 33C now.
Northolt just went to 34C.
We are running out of heating time though, so going to be a bug ask to get to 36C I fear...

The next two days are potential date record targets. Today wasn't!
The rise has all happened in the last hour. I'm sure it will show on the next obs.
34C on the 1350Z METAR at Heathrow and Northolt. And the hourly temp is sometimes more than a degree out from the xx50 METAR for some reason.
Edit: Northolt is 34.1 so we have at least made an official 34C for the fourth day in a row.
Heathrow 34.6c at 3pm.

Isn't that the 2pm reading not the 3pm reading?
I think the 3pm reading will be around 36C
Impressive. 35C definitely on then
No, it's already 3.05pm.
2pm was 33.8C. The 1400Z (3pm) synops have three above 34C: Heathrow 34.6 and Northolt and St James's Park both 34.1.
Nudged up again here, 32.2C the new high at Blackbushe.
No, it's 3pm (1400 UTC).
Ah :(
Not much time left then for this to get past 36C
I don't think so. Its just over 34 here. I can't see it being 2c hotter 5-6 miles away. I think we'll do well to hit 36 today. 35+ very much on the cards though
