Seems pretty clear of mid level convection at the moment. There is a load of cloud across Northern France but I make it at least 3 hours away from London. Expecting a bit to bubble up later as the soundings implied they would, but there is plenty of insolation to go for the time being.
With the high humidity this feels like one of those slow but sure heat builders of a day. Nothing ultra-rapid like 1 July 2015 or the Friday before last, but not one of those days like yesterday where everything leaps up mid afternoon.
Also worth noting that the convection in France, which is visibly exploding on satellite, is across the Northern Massif central / Auvergne. Typical convection locus, but if it stays there then it will spread NE towards the low countries and miss the UK. Much better than explosive convection across Aquitaine or Limousin, which would be more of a cloud issue for the UK later or tomorrow.
