Today was completely boring and uninteresting here in the north of Edinburgh until a short while ago when we had a very short burst of heavy an torrential rain.
Up until then, it had been mostly overcast with some easterly muck coming in from off the North Sea, but with nothing else actually happening.
I haven't been able to get any data from my usual sources at weathercast.co.uk for any of my three local stations since 7am this morning, so I have had to use alternative sources of data for that.
According to those other sources, the really abysmal total of just 12 minutes of sunshine have been recorded for the whole of today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 6pm this evening (that is taken from the actual raw SYNOP data).
Once again, today hasn't even benn the least bit warm here for this time of the year with the temperatures rising no higher than around 18°C here in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 6pm this evening was around 16°C here in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
