This is what Sir Patrick said only yesterday (Friday):  "Our aim is to build up some kind of herd immunity so more people are immune to the disease and we reduce the transmission, at the same time we protect those who are most vulnerable to it".

Just 24 hours later we are now being told that this was "misunderstood" and that "herd immunity is not part of our plan".

Everything is moving so quickly day to day, that a press conference every 4-5 days from the Prime Minister/CMO isn’t helping. People are left to debate a summise and reach their own conclusions. 

For instance supermarkets have said today do not panic buy. But why don’t we have the prime minister leading from the front and being visible to the public.

I suspect the term "herd strategy" will come back to haunt the government if things get very bad. Many people will think they are being treated like cows.
