I think what is now becoming clear is that the only way to contain if an outbreak becomes out of control

Is the extreme approach the chin ease have taken.

I suspect we will see the same in Spain, Germany and France before too long.

I really can’t understand why we haven’t stopped flights for Northern Italy... personally I believe believe we should of done this 2 or 3 days ago.

Anybody getting to the UK from Italy via a another country should be quarantined. I have a very uneasy feeling about this outbreak.

If the virus could talk it would be like the episode from Red Dwarf...

Massive !!!

Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said the measures, which come into effect on Tuesday, were necessary to defend the most fragile members of the community.

He added that the best thing for the citizens of Italy was to stay at home.

Economy at a standstill then - for how long ?

What about those dodgy Italian banks ??

It's the classic case of people acting in what they seen as their own interests rather than the interest of the society/country.

The Chinese authorities have larger numbers of police and soldiers to enforce whatever decisions they take; most European countries will have to deal with people doing the right thing.  Will they?

Is self isolation going to be a waste of time? Five days some much longer to show its head could have infected many by then.

I only hope HMG isn't just relying on modelling, but they are also using the actual data from other countries.

Well, the strike means I'm limiting my exposure quite a lot. Tesco and taking my boy to football is what I'm restricting myself to. But with 2 kids going to school every day, there's a limit to what I can do. Got a sore throat and some chestiness for about 3 days now, but no temperature.

I might try to get out of doing the open days in 2 weeks. Not great to be at close quarters with 200 people from around the UK.

I think the time has come to start banning mass public events why wait. Many other European countries have done so already. Also ask people to work from home if they can.
