Iran does not have 5 cases, they have lied and covered it up. Iran likely has hundreds of cases. They have completely lost control.

It's also probably in Indonesia and North korea too.

No clinical trials have shown that the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) can be transmitted by passing through the skin, a Chinese expert said Friday.

Respiratory droplets and close contact transmission are the major routes of the coronavirus infection, and it is essential to cut off the channels for the virus to enter the body via mouth, nose and eyes, Zhou Qi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said at a press conference.

COVID-19 can be transmitted when someone is exposed to high concentrations of aerosol in a relatively closed environment for a long time, while the probability of aerosol transmission in a normal working and living environment is extremely low, Zhou noted.

For factories and enterprises that resume work, Zhou suggested keeping ventilation in working space, wearing masks correctly, and keeping a proper distance between colleagues in relatively densely populated workplaces.

Zhou added that as long as people wash their hands correctly and frequently, fecal-oral transmission can be avoided.

"As the number of confirmed patients and suspected patients continue to decline, I believe we can achieve precise prevention and control of virus transmission with optimizing measures," Zhou said.

I guess the point is this - South Korea is becoming an epicentre, we have no reliable statistics from Iran and it is a pretty safe bet that if there are cases in Iran, there will be cases in Afghanistan and Pakistan as well.

Problem is that there is insufficient information from some countries to be able to draw reliable conclusions. The more chaotic, disorganised authoritarian or poor a country is, the less we know about the genuine situation on the ground.

Presumably the problem with Coronavirus is not it's affect on people but the fact the world would really rather have fewer diseases, not more.

COVID-19 has affected/is affecting 32 countries, however, on a positive note 9 of those countries currently have a 100% recovery rate and 0% mortality rate.

People are literally being welded into their houses. China has drones surveying and arresting people with sniffles.

China has implemented a crackdown that would be impossible for any democracy to match. They have declared martial law in cities the size of London.

Surely it is only a matter of time before the Tokyo Olympics are called off. July is not that far away.
