Morning everyone, and welcome to St. Valentine's Eve.
Last night was very promising to begin with as an official air frost was recorded at all three of my local stations (the lowest hourly temperature reading at Edinburgh Gogarbank was actually slightly above freezing, but the actual recorded minimum temperature at that station was slightly below freezing which means that there was an official air frost there).
However, it then clouded over with the wind eventually picking up and as that has happened, the temperature has gone back up.
Now, it is raining here in Edinburgh as I write.
Last night's overnight minimum temperature was -0.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and -1.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 7am this morning was now up to around 4°C which isn't even the least bit cold.
