Another rather disappointing day here in Edinburgh with a lot of cloud which means that in the end, the really abysmal total of just 42 minutes of sunshine was recorded for the whole of today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
This means that we still need a minimum total of 12.1 hours of sunshine between now and the end of this month in order for this month to go down as being sunnier than average overall.
However, there are now just three days left of this month and unless the sunshine totals are far better over that time than what we have been seeing in recent days, this month will go down as being duller than average overall.
There was also some rain earlier on today which has now cleared away, although this has resulted in a total of 9.4 mm of rain being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 11pm tonight, along with 7.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 13.7°C which makes today the coolest day of this autumn so far.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 11pm tonight was around 9°C, so tonight is a bit cooler than of late.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
