Looks like normal service has been resumed in this part of the world for now at least, as we have returned to being one of the most boring parts of the UK when it comes to our weather with all of the more "interesting" action happening elsewhere.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature from the hourly readings alone was 8.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 8.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 7am this morning was 9.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
