I was going to mention that today is St. Swithin's Day but then, Caz beat me to that this time in the opening post of this thread.
If the members of this forum didn't know any better, I'm sure that there would then be plenty of discussion on this forum as a result of that, about the likelihood of it raining or not raining for the next 40 days after today depending on what happens today. Even if there was such a discussion on this forum though, somewhere like the MO would be the more appropriate place for that.
This thread on the other hand, is for reporting what is happening right on and on that basis, I will start off by saying that I am posting this at an earlier time than normal as I am about to travel down to Hawick, which is a small town in the Scottish Borders. I will be there for a week, and will be travelling back to Edinburgh next Monday.
Once again, we don't quite have the completely sunny start to the day which I was expecting to see despite the fact that today is being forecast to be the best day of this week and there is a lot of cloud around yet again. However, there are also already some fairly decent sunny spells getting through at times.
Last night was a bit cooler than of late with an overnight minimum temperature of 11.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 6am this morning was 12.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
