Here in Edinburgh, we had a nice few days with plenty of warm sunshine, but the wind has picked up a lot over the last day or so. That wind is coming straight in from off the North Sea and it's also clouded over quite a lot with bits and pieces of that easterly muck in the form of low cloud and mist mist being blown in from off the North Sea as well.
The result of this is that a total of 7.5 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 6pm this evening which is more than what we were getting on most days earlier on this month, but nowehre near as much as what we have been seeing in recent days.
Today has also been a bit cooler than recent days, especially since the temperature here reached 21.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank just a few days ago, although it is still a bit warmer than what it was earlier on this month.
With that in mind, today's maximum temperature was 16.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 16°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 14.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 7pm this evening was around 11°C here in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
