The spring borefest goes on here, and it remains overcast with nothing which even remotely interesting in terms of our weather actually happening.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 8.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Today started off on a bright enough note and a total of 6 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

However, there was a lot of high cloud around even then, and that has now thickened up to leave us in yet another dull, grey and overcast nothingness as our spring borefest goes on.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 7.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 7°C at Edinburgh Airport and 7.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 9.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Groundhog Day goes on here and absolutely nothing is changing here to the point where I have really become tired now of this same old lack of any sort of interesting weather (which even seems to include any extended periods of sunshine these days) day in and day out all of the time, especially whilst other parts of the UK at least get a bit of frost and/or fog now and again to at least, make things a little bit more interesting.

Meanwhile on this umpteenth day of the most boring spell of weather which I have probably ever had to endure in these parts, a total of just 24 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 10.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.7°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

A lovely Spring-like day with near unbroken hazy sunshine. It may "only" be 12.7 c currently from a peak of 15.1 at 12 pm but it was easily comfortably warm enough to sit on the front door steps in shorts & T shirt while slurping on a cuppa since winds are light. I even forgot to turn the heating on for mother this morning and the solar input this afternoon mean it won't be needed tonight.

A pity it's looking set to be rather crap next week, but the lawn could use a drop of the hard stuff anyway.

North Northumberland saw a bright and breezy morning, and with a bit of sunshine the temp increased from a low of 6.3 to a high of 12.8 at around 11.15.

There followed a major change as a dense black mass of cloud encroached from the north, there was a short burst of rain drops and the temp plunged by 6 degrees as the cold front passed through. A dank wet afternoon followed with bursts of rain, NE wind and a temp around 5.5 c. This evening was clear and sunny and for the first time in weeks with no west wind, it fell calm and became foggy for a time after dark, with a temp of 2.5 c, then cloud increased and it has warmed up to 4 c, fog gone.
